The Digital Advancement Imperative outlines a national strategy that leverages technology with social purpose to produce a truly inclusive digital economy; one that prioritizes those who have traditionally been left out because of race, class, or geography. Digital Advancement is focused on the idea that Federal, state, county and local governments, and public utilities have an ever-increasing and critical role in providing meaningful broadband access to promote digital advancement—a concept that recognizes connectivity not merely as a means unto itself, but rather an essential conduit to a more equitable and prosperous future for everyone. We envision enlightened and coordinated policies to enable digital advancement through infrastructure and multi-sector innovation with social purpose. It also emphasizes the belief that adoption, at its core, is about culture.
